This is what happened to His Followers who were on their way to Emmanus, they were with Jesus but could not recognise Him and when he broke the read to share with them their eyes and ears were opened to listen to his voice.Sylvia Mokwena the reason why we need to break the bread after the esther fast is because our Lord Jesus wants to open our eyes and know Him more through the Holy Communion. Actually it's an old testimony, but it could still be a blessing to you: I mentioned a couple e-mails back that I wanted prayer that God would cause the burglar who has ransacked my house to come forth and confess his thievery to me. I have no problem believing this is possible, because I actually saw it happen once. That's right, with my own eyes. You see, 25 or 30 years ago, I was in the service. United states Air Force, to be exact. I was a sergeant. I was "Sergeant Working!" (And boy was I proud!) Anyway, I lived in the barracks. Now most of the guys in the barracks had huge, butt kicking, expensive stereo systems. I was no exception. My stereo system was one of the finest money can buy! Well, one day I came back to my room after duty, and when I opened the door, lo and behold there was a huge hole where my system once sat. Someone had stolen it. I had not the slightest inkling who. But God knew. Well, amazingly, I made the decision to follow Christs' command and forgive whoever it was! Not easy, because this hurt! Well, I told my buddies that I had forgiven the thief. They thought I was crazy, I think. But the word of my "craziness" spread. ("Doug forgave the guy who ripped off his stereo!") and grapevine took over from there. To make a long story short, a short time later, someone came knocking on my door. It was a black guy whom I barely knew. He was crying. Sobbing, in fact. Then he burst out through his tears." Man, I stole your stereo!" But you forgave me, and I gave my heart to God, and now I'm going to live for God!" And he meant it. And man he was just balling! Sobbing his heart out. I believe I probably gave him a hug. So God did it! He caused a thief to come forth and confess his crime! And He can do it again. My own faith is encouraged 7 levels by sharing that story with you! The benefit: Their eyes where opened.(Luke 24:30). As we approach His table with prayer and fasting there's no better way to leave than with our spiritual eye's being opened even as we commune with Him THE LORD’S SUPPER
